To all the military men and women in Iraq and throughout the world on Christmas 2004

Friday, December 24, 2004
To all the brave men and women in uniform who are so far from home this Christmas please know that you are in my prayers and thoughts all of the time especially now. I write to you not only as a citizen of the US but also as a veteran and as a member of a military family who also has those I love spread out across the globe on this and previous Christmas seasons. I can never thank each of you enough for your honorable and brave sacrafice for me and for my family and our nation. You are not forgotten by us as we celebrate this holy season. I pray for your safe return home very soon. You are all in my prayers and thoughts and in my heart this Christmas. Thank you so very much for your bravery and your selfless example. You are a inspiration to so many. The term hero is tossed around alot these days but you men and women are the real thing..you are the real heros. I stand humbly before heros like you. I wish I could put into words the degree of honour that I place you all in. I wish my feeble words could convey just how much respect and gratitude I feel for each of you. Please know that you and your families are in my heart and in my prayers on this Christmas and all through the year. I salute you with great respect and thank you for your sacrafice on my behalf. May Christ bless you and your families and may Our Lady keep you beneath her mantle of love and grace and protection.
