Saint Matthew
Chapter 7

1
1 2 "Stop judging, that you may not be judged.
2
For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.
3
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?
4
How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye?
5
You hypocrite, 3 remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.
6
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, 4 or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.
7
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9
Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, 5
10
or a snake when he asks for a fish?
11
If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
12
6 "Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.
13
7 8 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.
14
How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
15
9 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.
16
By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
18
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
19
Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
20
So by their fruits you will know them.
21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, 10 but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Magnificat anima mea Dominum
Magnificat anima mea Dominum. My soul magnifies the Lord
et exultavit spiritus meus and my spirit exults
in Deo salutari meo in God my Savior
Quia respexit humilitatem For He has regarded the lowliness
ancillae suae. of his handmaiden.
Ecce enim ex hoc beatam Behold, all generations
omnes generationes. will call me blessed
Quia fecit mihi magna For He that is mighty
qui potens est has done great things
et sanctum nomen ejus. and holy is his name
Et misericordia ejus And his mercy

timentibus eum. throughout all generations
Fecit potentiam in brachio suo He has showed strength with his arm,
dispersit superbos He has scattered the proud
mente cordis sui in the imagination of their hearts.
Deposuit potentes de sede He has put down the mighty from their seat
et exaltavit humiles and hath exalted the humble.
Esurientes implevit bonis: He has filled the hungry with good things
et divites dimisit inanes. and sent the rich away empty.
Suscepit Israel puerum suum He has helped His servant Israel,
recordatus misericordiae suae. remembering His mercy.
Sicut locutus est As He promised
ad patres nostros to our forefathers,
Abraham et semini ejus in saecula. Abraham and his seed forever.
Gloria patri, Gloria filio Glory to the Father, Glory to the Son
Gloria spiritui sancto. Glory to the Holy Spirit.
Sicut erat in principio As it was in the beginning,

Veni Creator
Veni Creator Spiritus,
Mentes tuorum visita,
Imple superna gratia,
Quae tu creasti, pectora. Come, Holy Ghost, Creator, come.
From thy bright heavenly throne!
Come, take possession of our souls,
And make them all Thine Own!
Qui diceris Paraclitus,
Altissimi donum Dei,
Fons vivus, ignis, caritas,
Et spiritalis unctio. Thou who art called the Paraclete,
Best gift of God above,
The Living Spring, The Living Fire,
Sweet Unction, and True Love!
Tu septiformis munere,
Digitus Paternae dexterae,
Tu rite promissum Patris,
Sermone ditans guttura. Thou who are sevenfold in Thy grace,
Finger of God's right hand,
His Promise, teaching little ones
To speak and understand!
Accende lumen sensibus,
Infunde amorem cordibus,
Infirma nostri corpis
Virtute firmans perpeti. O guide our minds with thy blest light,
With love our hearts inflame,
And with thy strength, which ne'er decays,
Confirm our mortal frame.
Hostem repellas longius,
Pacemque dones protinus;
Ductoresic te praevio,
Vitemus omne noxium. Far from us drive our hellish foe,
True peace unto us bring,
And through all perils guide us safe
Beneath thy sacred wing.
Per te sciamus da Patrem
Noscamus atque Filium;
Teque utrius que Spiritum
Credamus omni tempore. Through Thee may we the Father know,
Through Thee the Eternal Son,
And Thee the Spirit of them both ---
Thrice blessed Three in One.
Deo Patri sit gloria,
Et Filio, qui a mortuis
Surrexit, ac Paraclito
In sacculorum saecula. Now to the Father, and the Son
Who rose from death, be glory given,
With Thee, O holy Comforter,
Henceforth by all in earth and heaven.
Amen. Amen.

AVE Maris Stella
AVE maris stella,
Dei Mater alma,
atque semper Virgo,
felix caeli porta. HAIL, O Star of the ocean,
God's own Mother blest,
ever sinless Virgin,
gate of heav'nly rest.
Sumens illud Ave
Gabrielis ore,
funda nos in pace,
mutans Hevae nomen. Taking that sweet Ave,
which from Gabriel came,
peace confirm within us,
changing Eve's name.
Solve vincula reis,
profer lumen caecis
mala nostra pelle,
bona cuncta posce. Break the sinners' fetters,
make our blindness day,
Chase all evils from us,
for all blessings pray.
Monstra te esse matrem:
sumat per te preces,
qui pro nobis natus,
tulit esse tuus. Show thyself a Mother,
may the Word divine
born for us thine Infant
hear our prayers through thine.
Virgo singularis,
inter omnes mites,
nos culpis solutos,
mites fac et castos. Virgin all excelling,
mildest of the mild,
free from guilt preserve us
meek and undefiled.
Vitam praesta puram,
iter para tutum:
ut videntes Iesum
semper collaetemur. Keep our life all spotless,
make our way secure
till we find in Jesus,
joy for evermore.
Sit laus Deo Patri,
summo Christo decus,
Spiritui Sancto,
tribus honor unus. Amen. Praise to God the Father,
honor to the Son,
in the Holy Spirit,
be the glory one. Amen.

ADIUVET nos, quaesumus Domine, gloriosae tuae Genetricis semperque Virginis Mariae intercessio veneranda; ut quos perpetuis cumulavit beneficiis, a cunctis periculis absolutos, sua faciat pietate concordes: Qui vivis et regnas in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
MAY we be assisted, we beseech Thee, O Lord, by the worshipful intercession of Thy glorious Mother, the ever-Virgin Mary; that we, who have been enriched by her perpetual blessings, may be delivered from all dangers, and through her loving kindness made to be of one heart and mind: Who livest and reignest for ever and ever. Amen.
