The Eternal High Priest and Our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ!! Posted by Hello
+JMJPT+
Here are the Mass Readings from the Sacred Scripture for Tuesday May 3rd, 2005: I appologize that this posting is a bit late. Please take a moment and read over and meditate on the readings for today and unite yourself in prayer with the Church throughout the world. Please especially pray for the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI and his intentions in your prayers. Today I ask that you pray especially for all lukewarm and fallen away Christians that the Holy Spirit may grant them zeal and fervency and fortitude to live out their Christain faith in a bold way before a hurting world in darkness. Please also pray for an outpouring of grace upon all men and women as they discern their particular vocations and for myself as I discern God's call personally. Please also pray for the conversion of those who do not know or belive in Christ that they may find His Truth, His Mercy and His Love with in His Bride The Catholic Church. Please remember my daughter and I and those in our lives in your prayers also. I also ask that you remember, over the next several days, a couple very special and very important intentions that I have placed before the Throne of Mercy and Grace. It is to Our Loving and Merciful God and His Mother that I fly to with my intercession and I humbly and obediantly submit to Divine Providence in my need. I thank you in advance for your prayers.
I have posted two very powerful prayers below my text and above the Mass Readings that you may find helpful.
Since the Gospel reading today calls upon us to call out to the Father with the Holy Name of Jesus I have, at the bottom of this posting given the Litany of The Holy Name of Jesus for your further prayer and reflection. There are additional links provided at the end of this posting for great sites for further information and reflection. May Christ Our Crucified and Risen Redeemer richly bless you all and those in your life and may Mary keep you always beneath her protective mantle of love and grace!
Omnia Pro Iesu Per Mariam!!

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, Those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle; Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke Him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Feast of Saints Philip and James, Apostles

Reading I
1 Cor 15:1-8

I am reminding you, brothers and sisters,
of the Gospel I preached to you,
which you indeed received and in which you also stand.
Through it you are also being saved,
if you hold fast to the word I preached to you,
unless you believed in vain.
For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins
in accordance with the Scriptures;
that he was buried;
that he was raised on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures;
that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.
After that, he appeared to more
than five hundred brothers and sisters at once,
most of whom are still living,
though some have fallen asleep.
After that he appeared to James,
then to all the Apostles.
Last of all, as to one born abnormally,
he appeared to me.

Responsorial Psalm
Ps 19:2-3, 4-5

R. (5) Their message goes out through all the earth.
or:
R. Alleluia.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.
Day pours out the word to day;
and night to night imparts knowledge.

R. Their message goes out through all the earth.
or:
R. Alleluia.
Not a word nor a discourse
whose voice is not heard;
Through all the earth their voice resounds,
and to the ends of the world, their message.

R. Their message goes out through all the earth.
or:
R. Alleluia.

Gospel
Jn 14:6-14

Jesus said to Thomas, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him."
Philip said to him,
"Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us."
Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time
and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father'?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own.
The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me,
or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it."
