The Paradox

Our Lord Carries His Cross and gives us and example. Jesus I Trust in You! Lord help us to bear our crosses for Your Love always!! Posted by Hello

It is quite an interesting paradox that the further I give myself to Christ and the graces that flow from that abandonment the more that certain troubles rear their heads. As I offer my self to Him and try to follow Him many times some form of persecution (even a little bit) or negative comments increase. The same can be said of temptation in that the more I try to devout myself to His Service and pray even more then it seems that soon after when I am least expecting it a familiar temptation comes. I may not give into to it and through grace I am brought through it and grow stronger but still it comes. The evil one wants to do everything he can to tempt us or make us loose hope or faith and most of all to do everything he can to stop us from praying and turning to Christ. It seems almost that sometimes I know that I am really entering a period of grace and deeper faith and hope when there is some persecution because of Christ. I think many times people do not want to know the truth because if you do then you have to decide to follow Christ who said “I Am The Way, The Truth and The Life” and you then have to make difficult decisions regarding what you used to do. For myself I would rather know the Truth so that I can follow Him and proclaim His Love even more. I would rather shatter my old relativism and ‘me-ism’ and live totally for God than walk in darkness. I guess I equate it to looking at a room with the lights off and then turning them on- many times you only see the dirt and clutter in the light of day and then you have to decide to clean house or live in dirt. Truth is wonderful but it is not always easy. Living a life for Christ is wonderful but He said it would never be easy. The Way of the Cross is not alas paved with flowers but with rocks and stones but give me those stones and rocks for Him any day over a temporary flower that will wither. I praise God for the good and the bad for if it leads to Him then it is always a grace!
On a quick side note which actually has nothing to do with this posting I had mentioned for the past couple days in The Daily Read a few quick effective prayers and for some reason they did not get published with the rest of those postings. I fixed that and updated those Daily Read postings to show the prayers and I post them below as a referance and resource to you. The Daily Read for Wednesday May 4th will be posted in the morning before I leave for Daily Mass.
Omnia Pro Iesu Per Mariam!

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, Those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle; Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke Him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
