Monday, June 06, 2005
CONFITEOR Deo omnipotenti, beatae Mariae semper Virgini, beato Michaeli Archangelo, beato Ioanni Baptistae, sanctis Apostolis Petro et Paulo, et omnibus Sanctis, quia peccavi nimis cogitatione, verbo et opere: mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Ideo precor beatam Mariam semper Virginem, beatum Michaelem Archangelum, beatum Ioannem Baptistam, sanctos Apostolos Petrum et Paulum, et omnes Sanctos, orare pro me ad Dominum Deum nostrum. Amen.

I added a new feature to this blog which shows in real time the numbers of deaths from various things. I did this not to be morbid but to simply show reality. People die. Someday, I hope a long time from now mind you, I will be one of those clicking numbers and so will you. That is reality- that is the truth. There is no escaping the reality. What we can do is turn our hearts, our minds and our souls to God now- this day before we meet Him later. I would much rather love Him and serve Him now and be with Him in eternity in heaven than to deny reality and deny Him now and be without Him in Hell in eternity. This world is passing and all the things and all the people we know will all be gone one day but we can turn in Love to Him today. I also wanted to bring home, by way of the calculator the reality of how many people at this very hour are facing their final hour of life. We must pray for those who will pass from this world today. They are in their final agony whether they realize it or not and we need to remember them in our prayers. Just sit for a minute or two and watch the numbers roll by. Each number is a precious unique soul with his or her own family, dreams, hopes and fears and they need our prayers. One day one of the numbers will be you and will be me- let us ask God to direct us and guide us so that we will be ready to meet Him with Love rather than with the fear of His Justice. Today is the only day you and I have- today is the acceptable day and time of salvation- today is the great day of Mercy for each of us! May we all turn to Him in Love and through Mercy today.
Omnia Pro Iesu Per Mariam!!
