The little candle!

Thursday, June 09, 2005

EN EGO, o bone et dulcissime Iesu, ante conspectum tuum genibus me provolvo, ac maximo animi ardore te oro atque obtestor, ut meum in cor vividos fidei, spei et caritatis sensus, atque veram peccatorum meorum poenitentiam, eaque emendandi firmissimam voluntatem velis imprimere; dum magno animi affectu et dolore tua quinque vulnera mecum ipse considero ac mente contemplor, illud prae oculis habens, quod iam in ore ponebat tuo David propheta de te, o bono Iesu: Foderunt manus meas et pedes meos: dinumeraverunt omnia ossa mea. Amen. Posted by Hello

A logical question was recently asked of me why do I talk about some pretty embarrassing things that have happened to me or that I am going through? The answer is also pretty straight forward: I am not a theologian, I am not a philosopher or trained apologist. I don't have any special talents or gifts (physical or spiritual) to offer Our Lord but I do have the story of His Mercy and Love as it has manifested it self within my soul. If I had millions of dollars I might build a great shrine for others to come to get to know of His Love and Mercy. If I had the talent to write great works or sing with a great voice I might use that to proclaim Christ's Love and Mercy. All I have, right now- today, is this little blog of my story of how Love and Mercy have manifested their selves in my tired and hurting soul and made it sing and rejoice like a bird and reach the highest heavens like a great eagle. So, it really does not matter if I have to be a little embarrassed over trials and troubles- not in comparison to what Our Lord has done with in my soul. You know there is all kinds of stuff out there on the internet and people are willing to bear much more than their hardships and joys- there is some really trashy evil stuff there. There is also just some stupid wastes of time with a bunch of pretty selfish folks. This blog is not great by any stretch of the imagination and neither am I but I would rather sacrifice a bit of self respect and eat some humble pie for Christ any day and hopefully proclaim in my little way His Love and Mercy and Truth and give out plenty of links to the REALLY good sites than just sit and complain about the ways of the world. I am just a little tiny candle that will someday burn out and disappear but the True Light will never cease to illuminate the souls of those who turn to His Love and Mercy.
On a different note I would like to take a moment and congratulate the newly ordained Deacon Brother John Larson of the Marian's of the Immaculate Conception on his ordination!! He has a great blog by the way and I encourage you to visit it and say a prayer for him also. As far as I am on the blog subject I really like the blog that Jimmy Akin has- now that is what I call power blogging for Christ and he is hilarious too. I heard that Fr. Richard John Neuhaus had a blog or maybe it was just while he was in Rome and not a continual thing but I am having trouble finding it- maybe someone could please send me a link- please? I would really like to see some Carmelite's that blog in relation to contemplative prayer - I would really find it interesting and I think it would be a great apostolic too but Our Lord will have to direct their hearts not me. So, that is the news that is news for the night. I still have my Lectio Divina for the day to do and some various things before sleep.
Omnia Pro Iesu Per Mariam!!
