Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I Trust in You and love You!!! Posted by Hello
+JMJPT+
A while back I read the book by Sandra D. Wilson "Hurt People Hurt People" and found it a wonderful and insightful book. I really think and I belive so does Dr. Wilson that the only way to healing in dealing with past pains and breaking the cycle of pain is through Divine intervention (Jesus Christ). I think it is applicable to very painful times and even our daily lives that when we are hurt or slighted then we as humans tend to lash out. I think many of the road rage problems and even dealing with those in our lives are caused by the effects of sin and evil and just bad feelings that many times are not directed at the person we lash out at but rather at someone or something from the previous day or years ago. Many times I have found that a quick prayer for assistance and many times hours of prayer along with frequent use of the Sacraments makes all the difference in the world in a outcome of a potentially explosive situation. Of course, most of the things that Dr. Wilson speaks of are horrible evils which spread but even on a smaller level in the normal course of our lives we have to surrender fully to Christ and allow Him to transform the situation and especially our heart, minds and souls. I think it helps me as I deal with others who may be acting pretty poorly if not even being hateful to realize that they many times are wounded by situations and people I have no idea about and so what I have to do is to pray that I respond as Christ would want me to and mostly pray for them that they may find peace and joy which comes from Him. By myself (by ourselves) we are only doomed to perpetuate pain and anger but through Christ and prayer and searching our own selves then we are transformed through Grace and Mercy. So, tonight pray for those who have hurt you in anyway (great or small) that Christ Our Lord may work in their heart and mind and that through them they too may proclaim His Love and Mercy. No one said it was easy- I should know but with God's Love and Mercy and through His Grace not only your life will be changed but those all around you (whether you know it or not they will be affected towards good). Tonight during my Holy Hour of Adoration I will offer the hour for those who have ever hurt me or even those I percieved I have been hurt by and those who I have hurt or lead astray and I will also offer it for all those who read this who have ever been hurt by the words or actions of others. May Jesus Christ be Praised and honored always in every heart throughout the world! Amen.

"The only grace I ask, O Jesus, is never to offend Thee. By love and not by fear, does a soul avoid committing the least fault. Yes, even if I have on my conscience every possible crime, I should lose none of my confidence; my heart breaking with sorrow, I should go and throw myself into the arms of my Savior. The remembrance of my faults humbles me and makes me afraid to rely on my own strength, which is nothing but weakness." St. Therese of Lisieux OCD, "The Little Flower" , Doctor of the Church

Some of the words from Don Henley's song "The Heart of the Matter" which are relevant to this posting.
"I've been tryin' to get down to the Heart of the Matter
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore

I've been tryin' to get down to the Heart of the Matter
Because the flesh will get weak
And the ashes will scatter
So I'm thinkin' about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore"
