Mercy and Christmas in the Garden of Gethsemane

"For the sake of His Sorrowful Passion have Mercy on us and on the whole world!!!" Posted by Picasa
I was praying the Sorrowful Mysteries today and while contemplating Our Lord's time in the garden I kept thinking on how I could console Him. Maybe because I thought of the hymn last night and it was fresh in my mind but as I prayed each Hail Mary I thought of myself kneeling next to Our Lord and singing to Him the hymn Veni Veni Emmanuel. Now you might think I am getting my holy days mixed up since that is a Christmas hymn not a hymn one would think of while meditating on Our Lord's passion but I think Our Blessed Mother was allowing me to console Him, whom I love, in a way that would move my heart and console her Divine Son Jesus. I felt moved by love for Our Lord Jesus to do my best in that time of great suffering He undertook for me and for all of humankind to offer my love with the hymn which I sang to Him while praying the Holy Rosary.
I think when Our Lord was suffering in the garden He wept for all the times we all missed opportunities for His Mercy and Grace to flow into our souls among so many other reasons. Today for you and for myself is such a opportunity if we but avail ourselves of God's Merciful Love. Tomorrow remains unseen but to God but today we have the opportunity. You have the opportunity by just reading my poorly written words to turn in prayer to God. Why wait any longer? God's Mercy is here today; why not come before the very Throne of Mercy and Grace and thereby be gracious and merciful to yourself by allowing Him to be merciful to you. The encounter with the Divine Mercy today at this moment is a gift; why not accept that gift?
Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel for I trust in You!
Omnia Pro Iesu Per Mariam!!
