Praised be Jesus Christ!! Now and Forever!!

I received a question months ago regarding suggestions about a prayer journal and I tried my best to answer the question. The link to the specific posting is here so you know what I am talking about. I think that it helps from time to time every few months or so to go back and review the journal and see where God is leading you and to see where you are now and what you still may be struggling with. I think there can be a danger if the review is done too often of dwelling in the past and not recognizing the holiness of this present moment that you are in. However, to go back and see how God has moved you through prayer and through joys and struggles can give comfort in the present moment. I think it allows you to see elements in your prayer life and personal life that need some special attention so that you can better serve Our Lord and grow in understanding of Him.
I think sometimes, for me, it is easy to concentrate so much on the present struggles (personally or in prayer) that I (we all) sometimes forget the graces that God has given to us and rejoice it that. To see where you have been, while not dwelling in the past, can give you courage through God's Grace and Mercy to face anything in the future. I had finished time before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and I was (more or less) telling Him about the present struggles of that time and how I felt overwhelmed. The thought came to me 'I brought you this far why would I just leave you now- you know I love you'. Now this was not any interior locution but just a little inspiration that I needed to not loose hope but to hope in Christ Our Lord for He has brought me so far and will not forsake me- or any of us. That is where every few months or so going back and reading old entries helps me. Just like going back and reading Sacred Scripture shows God's Mercy and Love in history (and so many other ways) I think that the same can be applied to occasionally going back and seeing the Merciful and Loving Hand of God in our lives individually. The same could be said for the liturgy of the Easter Vigil as a comparision also.
I will come back later and add some links to this but for now I need to get on to important things.

"Go, cry out this message for Jerusalem to hear! I remember the devotion of your youth, how you loved me as a bride, Following me in the desert, in a land unsown."
+ Jeremiah 2: 2

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us." St. Paul's Letter to the Romans 5: 1-5
