If you want some good solid Catholic perspective on the events in France and around the world then I suggest a friend's website Tribulation Times.
There are some- many- who do not wish to believe what is happening actually is. Unfortunately, lack of prayer and secular conditioning darkens the eyes of the soul. We have to be aware of the signs of the times and prepare. The most important preparation only comes through prayer and the Sacraments of the Holy Church. If we do not see then many times it is because of a lack of prayer and sin which clouds our perspective.
We look to the future not with fear and trepidation but with hope for God's Love, Mercy and Truth- WILL Triumph. The answers can not be found in shameless pycho gurus or in that latest television show. The answers can not be found in false spirituality or in the secular media. The answer can only be found in Our Lord Jesus Christ through prayer and penance and frequent reception of the Sacraments of the Church. We do not know the day or the hour and Our Lord teaches us that Himself. To not prepare our hearts - to not repent and reform our lives thinking we have plenty of time is the act of a fool. The Day of the Lord will be when ever He decides not me and not you- God is in control. We do know or should that our specific hour could be today or tomorrow. We hope for tomorrow but to not prepare our individual hearts is foolish- car crashes and all kinds of sudden unexpected problems occur all the time. We move forward in faith and in prayer for we do not know the day or the hour of our own specific hour. We must not put off going to confession, prayer or Mass today is a gift of Mercy and that is all we have- God alone- today. If our hearts are prepared then whether the hour for each of us or collectively is tomorrow or years from now we have no reason to fear. We need to be a little vigilant and see the signs around us and take even more time to rend our hearts and offer them to God. We need to proclaim Christ to the world and turn off the televisions, internet and radios for a moment and listen to the still quiet voice of God. We need to pray- pray for light and pray for Mercy.
