Praised be Jesus Christ!! Now and Forever!!
Now it may sound in this posting that I am mixing up Holy Seasons a bit but I am not. I know it helps me sometimes to gaze on the Infant Jesus and while still filled with awe over the miracle of the Incarnation of the Word made Flesh to also look at the Holy Infant Jesus and then think of the Passion that He will endure for all humanity later in His earthly life. Then look at Our Lady of Sorrows and see the pain when she realized that this beautiful perfect Holy Child would endure great sufferings for the world. To still give a fiat throughout His Holy Childhood by Our Blessed Mother shows her absolute obedience to the Father and her unswerving faith in the Providence of God. It is an amazing example for all of us to follow. Our Blessed Mother has much to teach us (especially me) if we only listen and allow her to lead us closer to her Divine Son.
Though it is Advent and not Lent I still thought it vital to post the prayer below that I ran across along the way. I think during our preparation for Christmas we need to take a moment and focus on- for a moment- the Passion of Our Lord- when we gaze upon a Nativity set. It adds much perspective to our Advent meditations and Christmas preparations. Maybe we all need to see the price that was paid for our souls and why God came among us. Salvation and Mercy NOT for consumer driven Christmas presents and warm fuzzy thoughts. May the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ stregthen us and help us to prepare better for the coming of the same King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Omnia Pro Iesu Per Mariam!!

"O God, who by the Passion of Your only-begotten Son, and by the shedding of His precious Blood through His five wounds, did restore human nature when it was lost by sin; grant us, we beseech You, that we who venerate on earth the wounds suffered by Him, may be found worthy to obtain in Heaven the fruits of that same most precious Blood. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen." Prayer Source
